Site Updates
I just finished a major overhaul of this site, including a migration off of the server in my basement to a real hosting service. Not that there was anything wrong with hosting it in my basement, but I am getting a little tired of being a system administrator when I should be spending my time writing for the site instead. While moving the site, I made extensive changes to the theme to make it look more modern and also did a lot of extension work to makes sure that the site is behaving well with Google, Technorati, and others.
If you have read this site before, you will notice that most of the posts are gone. I found that most of my posts were about updates to photos and such, things that are taken care of with RSS, and not so important to maintain here. However, I do label some of my posts as “articles” because they are more substantial and have some lasting value. Also, my articles had comments and links to them, so I migrated them to this new site.
I am making every effort to update this site more regularly, so I plan to take different approaches to posting. There will be three distinctly different types of posts on the site:
1. Tumble posts: quick commentary on news, photos, videos, etc. 2. Regular blog posts: short to medium posts about various topics. 3. Articles: longer posts with more thought and editing. These are automatically collated on my articles page.
Stay tuned for more soon.
